A Meal and More

A Meal and More was started 48 years ago by some of the parishioners of Christ Church. The intention was to provide a nutritious and beautiful hot meal to anyone who wanted one, twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays. The More was a restaurant type experience, complete with servers and music. In time, it became clear that more resources were available if it was a stand alone 501 ( c ) (3). It is currently a stand alone entity, with a board of directors and a broader base of volunteer support from other Episcopal churches in the diocese and Foodlink. The food preparation and the meal service still take place at Christ Church. Ten thousand- nine hundred and seventy meals were served in 2023. In 2024 the total number of meals served increased 19.9% over the previous year. Financial support also comes from the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester.
